Sam Shapiro is our Executive Chef here at Santoni’s. He has been with us for 2 years. Sam is known around the store for his approachability and collectedness. Prior to Santoni’s, Sam worked as Executive Chef at Innovative Gourmet Catering in Owings Mills. Originally from Highlandtown in Baltimore, Sam moved to west to Seattle to pursue a career in the culinary arts. He attended Seattle Central Culinary Academy whilst developing skills specifically in catering. He worked for 3 years at Whole Foods Markets as Sous Chef, Director of Catering, and Culinary Instructor. He assisted in opening 2 stores with Whole Foods. Sam loves the small community culture at Santoni’s and the high priority we give to people. Sam most enjoys attending gourmet wine dinners, where he can be found tasting his own kitchen’s culinary experiments. At home, Sam appreciates Thai and Indian cuisine. His love of cooking has brought him to his current position, where he can share and instruct his team in how to produce high quality food items every day here at the Marketplace.
