Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and I have already told you about the great dinner menu we have prepared for your special day. After you cook the entree and surprise your loved one here’s some ideas around town for your romantic evening.
This Valentine’s Day, The Walter’s Art Museum is staying open until 9 pm to host a special “Love is in the Art” event for you and your “Other.” Their program includes a romance-inspired dance performance and a love tour. They are also celebrating love with free hors d’ oeuvres and treats, a special cocktail bar, and a DJ for the evening. Click here for all the details on their website.
Another great local place to be- Illusions Magic Bar and Lounge featuring the one and only: Baltimore’s Houdini, Spencer Horsman, who among other astounding feats can escape from two straight jackets while suspended in the air. Illusions is holding a special Valentine’s Day Cabaret- six performers including Spencer who will dazzle you with Burlesque, Comedy, Magic, Music, and Sideshow. Find out more at the Illusions site.
Perfect for a picnic- Grab your special someone and a basket chock full of Santoni’s delicacies, and head over the Cylburn Arboretum to stroll among the miles of trails through a mature Piedmont forest. There are other shrubs and trees for the enthusiast and in the summer there will be flowering gardens that make a return trip worth the visit. Until then view the historic Cylburn Mansion, from 1863, and visit the Nature Museum to see historical and local flora and fauna. The Arboretum Website and the Baltimore City park website have the details you need to visit.
The Baltimore Aquarium is an old classic when it comes to romantic dates, and with good reason. On Thursday you and your honey, drinks in hand, can stroll the crowd-free exhibit halls and sample light cuisine until the Aquarium’s special late time of 10pm. They are also featuring a deal with couple’s tickets- a free 4-D Theatre ticket and commemorative animal photo. See the Aquarium site for more details.
